Kate Harrold’s digital collage photographs envelope an unusual sense of authenticity. Harrold diligently photographs each element of her eventual collage , individually shapes them, then merges the lot into one improbable realistic composition. Her work maintains an undeniable sense of wonder and uncertainty, forcing the audience to examine their own sense of reality. Harrold draws inspiration from architecture, human observation and interaction, and the challenges involved in photo manipulation. She has been recognized multiple times including “Best in Category – Digital,” Bethesda Row Arts Festival 2014, “Award of Distinction,” Art Fest Fort Myers 2015, “Award of Merit,” Gasparilla Festival of the Arts 2015, “Second in Category,” Coconut Grove Arts Festival 2016.
